PHILOSOPHY AND OBJECTIVES OF ADVENTURER CLUB
To be considered for Langa Adventurer Club membership, the applicant must be at least 6 years of age and no more than 9 years of age.
- Application forms for membership (available from the club director or secretary) must be completed and returned to the club executive committee for consideration and approval before the applicant may be inducted as a club member.
- All members must pay membership and administration fees as required by the club executive committee.
- Each Adventurer is to own and regularly wear the complete.
- Adventurer uniform and a club field uniform where applicable.
- Adventurers must come to meetings and club-sponsored events in the uniform unless otherwise indicated by the club director.
- Members must be faithful in attendance. Many clubs establish limits on absences and tardiness, and Adventurers who do not comply with these regulations may be placed on probation or be asked to withdraw from club membership. The Langa Adventurer Club has decided to set the limit mentioned above to at least 75% attendance per quarter.
- Adventurers must learn to keep the Pledge and Law.
- Club activities include crafts, outings, regular club meetings and class-work, fund raising, campouts, outreach activities, honours and other activities. The Adventurer must agree before joining the club to participate and co-operate in these activities.
- The Adventurer’s parents must be willing to co-operate with the club staff in supporting regulations and activities of the club. At times they will be asked to supply money and time to support their children’s membership. The amount agreed upon by the parents and Adventurers in a meeting held on 17 January 2009 is R100-00, inclusive of registration fee and monthly administrative fees for eleven months starting from end of January 2009.
- All elected directors and regular staff are members of the club by virtue of their office.
