The Langa Seventh-day Adventist Church is part of the Advent Movement started way back in the 19th Century. It moves and lives within the precepts of the advent movement and abide by the ethos that makes up the church.

The understanding of this truth enables the church to endeavour to fulfil its part in the mission of God. This mission of God calls upon each an every member of the church to embark on soul saving. This is reflected in the budget of the church, the plans of the church that infiltrate each an every department that exist in the church.

Our recognition of being missional ought to permeate every fibre of the church thus enabling us, the current generation, to fulfil the objectives of our ancestors, that of being a sunshine to the people of the area.

We are aware of the fact that our church is surrounded by many other churches who are worshiping the same God. It is our commitment to the worship of God to a point of being different. This difference is not brought about programs we run or people we have in our churches but our focus to God’ mission hence we talk of the missio Dei. I have discovered that our focus to the mission of God helps us keep direction and purpose. It is only when the church is missional that it fulfils being church.

Our commitment as Langa SDA Church is to fulfil this dream and we will spend all the resources we have to just do that.

Departments of the Church

Among other resources we have is the departmental structure that is meant to fulfil this focus
The Youth Ministries,
The Welfare Ministries
The Women Ministries
The Health Ministries
The Education Ministries
These church departments led by capable and dedicated people who want to see God’s message spreading far and wide.

We recently established or rather brought to the church’s attention the need to minister to our elderly folks and disabled members. These departments that are not falling under any existing department are Godly sanctioned to make sure that were not discriminatory in our approach. Lastly, in order to prepare our church to be contemporary in their approach and be conversant with the current culture, we appointed an officer that will be looking solely to people that are infected and affected with the HIV virus. With the understanding that the entire church is affected and have amongst us church members that are infected, we acknowledge a need to be a true home to such. Our understanding of being missional expands day in day out. It is our desire that each and every department of Langa SDA Church to minister to its constituency that is affected and infected with the virus, in this way we will have a very comprehensive approach to the pandemic.
